Mandrel

A Mandrel is a round form on which paper is wound to create a tube or cylinder. A wooden dowel is often used as a mandrel for small diameter tubes. Some pyro companies sell "maple case formers" or some other type of hardwood mandrel that is used to make large tubes or Italian style can shells.
